This project was part of my university course, serving as a significant learning experience that allowed me to apply various filmmaking techniques in a practical setting. I produced the film over 3 months, dedicating countless hours to research and pre-production adjustments, and I also took on secondary roles such as production design, ensuring that every detail aligned with our vision. It was set in the ’80s, which meant we needed specific items to give it the correct look, from costumes to props, immersing the audience in that vibrant era.
The version embedded is our second edit, which I edited, reflecting the feedback we received from our peers and lecturers. The first version was used for our module hand-in; the director and I worked on another edit during the summer, collaborating closely to enhance storytelling and pacing. This project was very intense, especially considering the long filming days and the roles undertaken, but the challenges we faced only fuelled our passion and commitment to create a compelling narrative that resonates with viewers.
